Writing Resources

Active Verbs versus Weak Verbs, do you know the difference?

Very few design and architectural book standards provide instruction on using active language in writing about design work. No AIA resources exist on the topic either. Do you want to be a better writer? A better writer on architecture and design? Do you wonder why the public doesn’t understand what architects do? Or, more simply put, doesn’t seem to engage with the writing about architecture that proliferates on the web and other design and architecture books?

Being a creative writer—a good creative writer—requires attention to language. One place to focus is on replacing weak verbs, commonly considered state of being verbs, with active language. Download the Architect + Action = Result active verb list here and put power into your writing.
